ATOL Protection
What is ATOL?
The ATOL scheme (which stands for Air Travel Organisers’ Licensing) is financial protection that protects you when you book a package trip that includes a flight, specifically to cover holiday-makers if their travel company stops trading while they’re abroad. This protection includes assisting you to stay in your holiday accommodation (if possible), reimbursing you for any money spent to replace ATOL-protected parts of your trip (such as car hire and transfers), and arranging flights home – depending on the circumstances.
What is ABTOT?
When you book with an ABTOT Member, you are booking with a specialist holiday provider, approved for Membership by a government-approved Association. You can book in confidence and with peace of mind that your pre-payments are protected in the event of the travel providers insolvency and that repatriation costs are covered.
Does utc.travel offer ATOL and ABTOT protection?
Yes! We know it’s never been more important to have protection, security and flexibility when booking travel abroad, and we’re proud to say we provide both ATOL and ABTOT protection. For all flight and flight-inclusive holidays originating from the UK we act as an agent for Light Blue Travel who are financially protected by the ATOL scheme (registered license number: 5489). utc.travel is also a registered member of ABTOT (member number: 5543).

utc.travel acts as an agent in respect of all bookings made on our website or by telephone. For all bookings, your contract will be with the applicable Service Provider of your chosen Travel Service (who may be the principal or the agent of the principal) and utc.travel acts only as an agent on their behalf, except where we state to the contrary in our terms and conditions.
For all flight and flight-inclusive holidays originating from the UK we act as agent for Light Blue Travel who are financially protected by the ATOL scheme (registered license number: 5489). But ATOL protection does not apply to all holiday and travel services listed on this website. If you do not receive an ATOL Certificate then the booking will not be ATOL protected. If you do receive an ATOL Certificate but all the parts of your trip are not listed on it, those parts will not be ATOL protected.
